Our Location

Geo Tours has been headquartered for over 20 years in the small town of Morrison, Colorado since 2001. Morrison is easy to get to from almost anywhere in the Denver Metro Area.

Morrison is located 3.3 miles south of Interstate 70 at Exit 259 or just west of C-470 at the Morrison Road exit or 2 miles north of Highway 285 at the Morrison turnoff. GeoTours is located at 229 Highway 8, approximately 1/4 mile south on Hwy 8 from Jct. Hwy 8 and Hwy 74 (traffic signal on west edge of Morrison town center).

The town of Morrison, Colorado is a National Historic District and maintains much of the charm and isolation that has made it a favorite destination for over 125 years. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Morrison is home to numerous quaint shops, restaurants, a B & B, and the famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. Morrison is the site of the first dinosaur bone quarries in Colorado. Dinosaur Ridge features guided and self-guided tours of dinosaur “track ways” and quarry sites, as well as a Visitors Center and Gift Shop. Morrison also has several museums and many outdoor activities. Come for the rafting with Geo Tours and stay to explore all the town of Morrison has to offer.

Many of Geo Tours’ raft trips will meet at specific river put-ins, Metro Area Park n’ Rides or a location of our guests choice. Transportation can also be arranged for those wishing to meet in the Metro Denver Area.

Clear Creek

Approximately 45 minutes from Downtown Denver or 30 minutes from Morrison. Trips launch from Idaho Springs, CO and Dumont, CO. These towns are easily accessible from Interstate 70.

 

Arkansas River

All of these trips are near Buena Vista, Colorado and are approximately a 2 ½ hour drive from Downtown Denver or 2 hours from Morrison. The direct route to Buena Vista is via Highway 285 out of Denver; or Highway 24 via Leadville, CO by way of Colorado Highway 91 and Interstate 70.

 

Upper Colorado River

Geo Tours Upper Colorado River trips generally utilize the Pumphouse RAP (River Access Point) or State Bridge, CO. These localities are approximately 2½ hours from Denver or 2 hours from Morrison. Pumphouse and State Bridge are also easily accessible (1 hour to ½ hour) from many of the Summit County Resorts, such as Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Dillon, Copper Mountain, and Vail. Pumphouse is about an 11 mile drive via Grand County 1 from the junction with Colorado Highway 9, approximately 2 miles south of Kremmling, CO.  State Bridge is located on Colorado Highway 131, 16 miles north of Wolcott, CO. Wolcott, CO is approximately 19 miles west of Vail, CO off of Interstate 70.
